The title notwithstanding, this is neither a post about cricket nor is it about pencils. It has been six years since I started this blog. I have been posting a celebratory note practically every year for the past two-three years on this day; mostly because it is a pleasant surprise. It is like a miracle - you might believe in them, but don't really expect one to happen for you.
This is also the chance I take to thank those who have stuck with me on the journey. Lately, the number is down to a trickle, sufficient to ensure that this isn't a monologue. Thank you for your support, feedback and criticism. I have also heard rumours of a great many silent readers visiting this space. If you are reading this, please accept a note of acknowledgment. It would be good to hear from you on occasion.
There is still wind in the sails. Onwards then!

Congrats on getting through 6 years. Yours was one of the first ones I started reading when blogs came to my notice. I am sorely tempted on numerous occasions to stop my own blog and anyone who continues with fervour and interest gets my thumbs up!
Congratulations, Parth! Like 30in2005, I think you were one of the first bloggers I started reading regularly - and, well, many years (I can't pick out exactly how long we've known each other) later, we're still reading one another's writing. :) I hope you never stop!
(I'm glad it's not one of your cricket posts, I never have anything to say about cricket! :P)
I did think of Cricket and then Nataraj pencil when i saw the RSS feed :)...
Congratulations mate...And i guess for me too, yours was one of the first stranger blogs i started reading and linked up...Here's to many more years of poems and son stories and other random stuff...
@30in200, Vidya, Frissko: Your comments make me feel like I have been around forever :) Glad to hear that, and thanks much for sticking by, and enjoying my work. I suppose the bright side of this is that we all started as strangers but don't feel like that anymore!
Pencils???
@Shreya: Clearly, you are much younger than I am :) There was a very popular ad that ran on TV when I was young ... for Nataraj Pencils. It ended with the phrase 'Aur yeh lagaa sixer! from which I got the title of this post.
Cheers to the sixer!
@Radha: Thank you.
Anyone that has blogged knows how difficult it is to sustain it, esp a well-crafted one like this, and for six years at that! Well done, indeed!
@Niranjan: Thanks!
I am often amazed at the variety of things that you can write about. Kudos to you for maintaining that freshness about the blog! congrats on turning 6!:)
@Anon: Thanks much.
