The poem highlights the dichotomy of the country - a proud nation with a rich history that we admire, yet the past has to jostle for space with the present, often ending up on the losing side. Conservation of heritage especially architecture has been a long complex debate in India where preservation with an exception of few structures has been a lost battle. That is why "4ever" hurts, hurts real deep.
@Pallavi: Indeed. I think some of the challenge is cultural and some simply practical. That's the dichotomy that prevails and has to be dealt with.
